Prayer Initative - Aug. 4–10: Responders, Emergency and Medical Workers

Under the theme “Living the Transformed Life” the youth of the North Bahamas Conference in Grand Bahama will be in camp meeting with invited guest evangelist, Pastor Valentino Campbell of the South Bahamas Conference, August 6th – 11th.

The camp meeting begins on Tuesday night August 6 at 7:30 pm at the Freeport Seventh-day Adventist church and will be hosted at the Freeport church until Thursday August 8. On Friday August 9th and Sabbath August 10th the meetings will be held at the Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist church.

Then on Sunday August 11th at the Xanadu beach, the youth department will have its annual summer splash. All are invited to come out and be blessed.

On the afternoon of Saturday 27th of July, The Youth Department of the North Bahamas Conference held its 3rd annual Waylon Johnson Bible Boom Competition at the Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church. Studying the books of Ephesians to Hebrews the Freeport, North Abaco, Shiloh, Eight Mile Rock, and Blessed Hope Seventh-day Adventist Churches competed in a stiff run off which resulted in the North Abaco Church placing third, the Eight Mile Rock church coming second, and the Blessed Hope church taking the trophy this year as first place winner.

Congratulations are extended to Mr. Patrick Brown who represented the Blessed Hope Church and won the 2013 Bible Boom Competition. Patrick is now preparing for the Atlantic Caribbean Union’s Bible Boom Competition, which is to be held in the Cayman Islands on Thursday October 3rd.

During the year 2011 it was Waylon Johnson who won the Union’s finals representing the North Bahamas Conference and Kesa Petit-frere won in 2012. The North Bahamas Conference is making thorough preparation to sustain the Union’s floating trophy as Patrick prepares for the finals.

Only in the light that shines from Calvary can nature's teaching be read aright. Through the story of Bethlehem and the cross let it be shown how good is to conquer evil, and how every blessing that comes to us is a gift of redemption.    Education p. 101.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—  children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.   John 1:12-13
